Aston University
The Aston University is an English public research university in Birmingham, England (abbreviated Aston for postnominals). In 1895, Aston was established as the Birmingham Municipal Technical School, and in 1956 it became the first college of advanced technology in the UK. On April 22, 1966, Queen Elizabeth II granted Aston University a royal charter. In 1947, when the technical school established a department of industrial administration, it wasn't easy to foresee that today Aston has one of the most prestigious business schools in the world, with a global reputation. Aston Business School began conducting research when the industrial administration research section was established in 1961 and engaged in ground-breaking research.
Aston University for International Students
The International Orientation Programme runs annually to inform and assist new international students. At the beginning of each academic year, student volunteers, or "Aston Aunties," help meet and greet students when they arrive at Birmingham Airport at specific times and adjust to the new culture and experiences awaiting them. In addition, the year and a group of global student advisors and welfare professionals with expertise in immigration and visas are accessible. Students are also given a personal tutor to help them with any academic difficulties they may encounter while in school.
