Lincoln, England, has two public universities, including Bishop Grosseteste University. In 1862, BGU was established as a teacher-training college for the Lincoln Diocese. In 2012, it applied for full university status, which it received on 3 December 2012. It’s located on a beautifully green and pleasant campus just a few minutes from Lincoln Cathedral, Castle and the old Roman city.
