L3 Education and Training
The qualification L3 Education and Training is for those new to teaching and training and those who wish to teach or train. It does not qualify candidates to teach in the sector. However, this course is still a prerequisite for progression to the Certificate in Education and Training and the Diploma in Education and Training.
Course Features
The course is designed for those who work or want to work as:
- A teacher with the qualifications and experience to teach a subject in the further education and skills sector, including adult and community education, work-based learning, and the voluntary sector.

Support staff and technicians in the further and higher education sector.
Assessment
Students will be assessed through written work and micro-teaching.
Course Structure
If you complete this course, you may proceed to the Certificate in Education and Training or the Certificate in Education and Professional Graduate Certificate in Education.
The qualification allows candidates to:

Be familiar with the roles and responsibilities of teachers and the relationships between educators and trainers.

Educators and trainers should understand and apply inclusive teaching and learning approaches.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this course, you must have Level 2 or 3 qualifications in the field you wish to teach or train, and you must demonstrate good written and spoken English at the interview.
